Michal Jakob
Dr. Michal Jakob is a principal researcher and the deputy head in the Agent Technology Center, Dept. of Computer Science, Czech Technical University in Prague. He leads the Agent-based Computing for Intelligent Transport Systems research group which explores how multiagent simulation, coordination and planning can be used to build flexible, efficient and secure multimodal transport systems. Michal Jakob leads the centre’s involvement in the SUPERHUB FP7 project, where he leads the critically important journey planning and mobility matchmaking workpackage, in the newly started MyWay EU FP7 project, where he is responsible for the design of the mobility resource management platform, and in the RODOS (Development of transport systems) national technology centre of competence.
In the past, he was leading other research initiatives applying artificial intelligence techniques to transport-related problems, including the very successful U.S. Office of Naval Research-funded AgentC project, which developed novel techniques for analyzing, modelling and disrupting maritime piracy. Michal Jakob has published over 40 scientific papers and is a principal inventor on two international patents.
Michal Jakob received a PhD degree in Artificial intelligence and biocybernetics from Czech Technical University in Prague in 2008. Before joining the Agent Technology Center, he was a research scientist with British Telecommunications (BT), developing resilient decentralized architectures for service-oriented computing and network-centric information fusion. Earlier in his career, he worked as a game AI programmer for Illusion Softworks (now 2K Czech), a leading European game studio.
Martin Rehák
Martin Rehak is a lecturer and senior researcher in the domain of network security. He is currently a principal engineer with Cisco Systems, working in the domains of network security, anomaly detection and machine learning applied to security problems in general. Prior to his current role, Martin was a CEO&CTO of Cognitive Security since its creation until the acquisition by Cisco Systems in 2013, where he led the design, productization of innovative Network Behavior Analysis solution and built a VC-funded company around the technology. In the past, he was a full-time researcher with Agent Technology Center, where he worked on a number of projects in the domain of multi-agent systems, trust management, distributed planning and scheduling and distributed optimization. Prior to his CTU position, Martin was member of the Mobile Communication Operations team of Schlumberger Smartcards (now Gemalto), where he was working on definition, design and integration of novel location-based and other value added services for major European and African operators. Before obtaining his degree, he was a freelance contractor to diverse Czech and French companies, including General Electric Medical Systems. Martin holds an engineering degree from Ecole Centrale Paris and a Ph.D. in AI from CTU in Prague. He has authored or co-authored more than 60 papers in the field of network security, anomaly detection and multi-agent systems.
Milan Rollo
Milan Rollo works as a senior researcher in the Agent Technology Center at the Department of Computer Science, Czech Technical University in Prague. His main research interests are multi-agent systems, especially distributed team action planning, communication management and resource allocation in mobile ad-hoc networks and distributed knowledge acquisition and maintenance. At present he is active in a field of collective robotics, with focus on deployment of AgentFly technology on autonomous UAVs and light sport aircrafts (funded by Technology Agency of the Czech Republic). Milan received a MSc in technical cybernetics (2002) and doctoral in artificial intelligence (2009) from CTU. He was a visiting researcher with Institute for Human and Machine Cognition (IHMC), Pensacola, USA in 2008. In the past he participated on several research projects funded by EU, ONR, ARL and AFRL.
David Šišlák
Dr. David Šišlák is a senior research scientist in the Agent Technology Center at the Department of Computer Science at Czech Technical University in Prague. David is the chief system architect for AgentFly and Aglobe systems. He participates in many research projects related to these systems funded by Czech and also foreign research sponsors. His research interests are in future ATM concepts and UAV control focusing on decentralized collision avoidance algorithms in air-traffic domain, efficient communication, knowledge maintenance in inaccessible multi-agent environment, large-scale multi-agent simulations and agent frameworks.
David Šišlák received a PhD degree in Artificial Intelligence and Biocybernetics in 2010. David is an author or co-author of many cited publications in proceedings of international conferences and journal papers. He received the prize for the best dissertation of 2010 awarded by the Czech Society for Cybernetics and Informatics and several other international awards during his PhD study.
Jiří Vokřínek
Dr. Jiri Vokrinek is a senior researcher and the deputy head in the Agent Technology Center, Department of Computer Scinece and Engineering, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Czech Technical University in Prague, Czech Republic since 2001. He has a university master degree in Technical Cybernetics and a PhD degree in Artificial Intelligence and Biocybernetics from Czech Technical University in Prague. His research interests are artificial intelligence, multi-agent systems, planning and replanning in multi-agent systems with focus to two fields: (i) manufacturing, virtual organizations, supply-chain management and logistics and (ii) autonomous vehicles coordination and cooperation, mission planning, and team coordination.
He was participating on projects in the fields of agent-based planning in manufacturing (IST Trial Project ExPlanTech, 2000-2002) and extra-enterprise production planning and virtual enterprises (IST Project ExtraPlanT, 2002-2004), advanced agent-based technologies for supporting virtual organizations (IST Integrated Projects ECOLEAD, 2004-2008, PANDA, 2005-2008, and CONTRACT, 2006-2009), and agent-based production processes simulations (Austrian government funded project CONCEERN, 2003-2005). He was also participating on U.S. Army sponsored research in the field of distributed planning and coordination (I-Globe, 2008) and agent-based coordination and planning for heterogeneous teams (AgentScout, 2009-2010, Tactical AgentFly, 2009-2012 and AgentFly-In-Air, 2011-2012).
Now, he is involved in research of distributed planning and coordination, production planning, negotiation protocols, unmanned vehicles cooperation, logistic optimization and traffic simulations. Currently, his activities support EU project D3COS and U.S. NAVY founded project Traffic Flow Modeling and he is in management commitee of COST action Autonomic Road Transport System. Since 2010, he is also in charge of development and deployment of advanced planning systems for Foxconn CZ manufacturing company.
Přemysl Volf
Premysl Volf is a senior researcher in the Agent Technology Center at the Department of Computer Science, Czech Technical University in Prague.
His research is focused on distributed large-scale high-fidelity simulation in the air traffic domain, simulation and modeling of behavior of human air traffic controllers and distributed cooperative algorithms used for collision avoidance in the air traffic control. Premysl is the leader of the AgentFly project and participated in many related projects.
Premysl holds master degree in Software Systems from Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University in Prague and PhD degree in Artificial Intelligence and Biocybernetics from Czech Technical University in Prague.
Postdoc Researchers
Michal Čertický
Michal Čertický is a researcher at Agent Technology Center since 2013, where he currently works on multi-agent simulation and modelling related projects. Prior to his current position, Michal worked on his PhD and RNDr. degrees in Computer Science at the Department of Applied Informatics of Comenius University in Bratislava, as a member of a Knowledge Representation Group (KRG). He also holds a master's degree in Cognitive Science from Comenius University in Bratislava and Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest. His research interests cover a wide variety of topics relevant to Artificial Intelligence, including knowledge representation, non-monotonic logic, ambient intelligence, machine learning, planning, and multi-agent systems.
Malcolm Egan
Malcolm Egan is a postdoctoral researcher within the Agent Technology Center. Previously, he was a PhD candidate in the Telecommunications Laboratory at the University of Sydney, Australia, and the Computational Informatics Division in the Commonwealth Science and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO). His fields of interest are intelligent transport systems, signal processing and wireless communications.

Jan Faigl
Jan Faigl received his Ph.D. degree in artificial intelligence and biocybernetics from the Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU) in 2010. The topic of his Ph.D. thesis is Multi-Goal Path Planning for Cooperative Sensing, which has been award for Antonin Svoboda prize for the best Ph.D. thesis by Czech Society for Cybernetics and Informatics. Since 2006 he has acted as research fellow at the Gerstner Laboratory, CTU till 2012. During 2003-2006, he worked as system analyst and programmer at ProTyS, Inc. on design and development of systems for railway safety and diagnostics. In 2013, he joined the Agent Technology Center and works on topics related to computational robotics. He is an author or coauthor of more than 50 publications in the peer-reviewed journals and conferences. His interests include planning, reasoning and navigation methods for autonomous intelligent mobile robotic systems for inspection, surveillance and exploration missions and long-term environment monitoring.
Jan Jakubův
Dr. Jan Jakubuv is a postdoctoral researcher at ATG since March 2012. He works on
the FAA branch of the AgentFly project.
Jan received his master degree in Theoretical Computer Science from Charles University in Prague in 2006. His master thesis, supervised by Prof. Petr Štěpánek, concerned automated theorem proving using the Tableaux methods. During his studies Jan became one of the founding members of ARG (Automated Reasoning Group) on the Charles University. In 2007 Jan received an EPSRC scholarship to undertake a PhD study at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh under the supervision of Dr. Joe Wells and Prof. Fairouz Kamareddine. His PhD thesis, which concerns advanced process calculi type systems, was successfully defended with no corrections in 2010. After his PhD studies, he worked as a freelance programmer and as a machine vibration diagnostic system developer at CMMS s.r.o. Jan is also involved in several projects held at Tesla ElectronTubes, s.r.o.
Jan is interested in applications of theoretical computer science both to industrial and fundamental research. He is especially interested in applications of automated reasoning techniques and type systems approach.
Antonín Komenda
Antonín Komenda is a researcher at ATG since 2007. He holds PhD from Artificial Intelligence and Biocybernetics from CTU with thesis on Domain-independent Multiagent Plan Repair. His master studies of Technical Cybernetics were finished also at ATG with a master thesis on Usage of Multi-agent System for Non-cooperative Airplane Deconfliction. In his research, he focuses on theory, methods and algorithms for automated multiagent planning, distributed problem solving and coordination. Similarily to the research work, Antonín's project work at ATG focused mosly on distributed planning, particularly in domains of tactical missions and logistics. From 2009, he worked on a track of Tactical AgentScout and Tactical AgentFly projects (funded by CERDEC) which targeted hardware deployment of various multi-agent algorithms for tactical mission support. From 2012, Antonín's project work got focused more on theoretical research in robust multi-agent planning (funded by AFRL). Additonally, Antonín was a technical lead of two of the projects at ATG. Antonín undertook a 5-week internship at Drexel University in Philadelphia in 2010 and a he was a post-doctoral fellow at Technion – Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa for a year in 2013-2014.
Antonín's prior employment was developer/programmer/analyst in private companies since 1998. His work focused on content managment systems and programming frameworks. He also collaborated on three startups in the Internet industry.

Tomáš Pevný
Tomáš Pevný holds the position of researcher at Czech Technical University of Prague. He received his PhD in Computer Sciences from State University of New York in Binghamton in Computer Science at 2008 and MS in Computer Sciences from School of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering at Czech Technical University in Prague in 2003. In 2008--2009, he did his post-doc at Gipsa-lab in Grenoble, France. His research interests are applications of non-parametric statistics (machine learning, data modeling) with focuses on steganography, steganalysis, and intrusion detection.
Qing Song
Ondřej Vaněk
Ondřej currently works on a U.S. Office of Naval Research funded project from the maritime domain AgentC, researching techniques able to minimize negative impacts of contemporary maritime piracy on the international shipping industry. He deploys the project results together with the International Maritime Organization in the Kenyan regional Information Sharing Center which collects, analyzes and distributes information about the latest maritime piracy situation.
Ondřej was visiting scholar in summer 2010, 2011 and 2012 at the University of Southern California in Teamcore research group, applying game theory to additional security problems, such as police checkpoint allocation in the city of Mumbai, optimal deep packet inspection in computer networks and efficient patrolling of urban districts.
Ondřej holds a PhD in Artificial Intelligence and a master’s degree in Technical Cybernetics from the Czech Technical University in Prague. Prior to his current position, he spent summer 2008 in Rockwell Automation Center in Cleveland as a visiting researcher and he worked as a Java programmer and IT analyst for various companies.

Karel Bartoš
Karel Bartoš holds engineering degree in Engineering Informatics from the Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering of the CTU. He currently pursues his PhD studies at the Department of Cybernetics of the Czech Technical University in Prague.
His current research interests include network security, distributed data fusion, trust and multi-agent systems focusing on intrusion detection.
Petr Benda
Petr Benda is a reseacher at ATG. He joined ATG in 2002, when he started the when he started the RoboCup Rescue project. Later, he graduated in Biomedical engineering (in 2004).
His research interests are biological systems, synergic effects in multi-agent systems and general artificial intelligence.
Petr works for D3CoS project and manages activities for the project. He also builds IBM Competency Center at CTU and is a member of advisory board of the Department of Computer Science.
Branislav Bošanský
Branislav Bošanský is a research fellow in the Agent Technology Group at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Czech Technical University. He holds master’s degree in theoretic informatics (artificial intelligence and logic programming) from Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University in Prague. His research interests include computational game theory with applications in multi-agent environments, game-playing algorithms, and multi-agent simulations. He participated on number of successful projects supported by US Air Force, Office for Naval Research, and CERDEC US Army. The focus of his work was on designing and implementation of novel algorithms for finding strategies in complex adversarial domains, such as humanitarian relief operation in an unstable region, problem of piracy in Gulf of Aden and Indian Ocean, and tactical military operations with teams of heterogeneous unmanned systems. The game-theoretic models of security games and multi-stage patrolling games are the topic of his thesis.
Michal Čáp
Michal Čáp is a PhD student at the Department of Computer Science, FEE, Czech Technical University in Prague. He holds a master degree in Agent Technology from Utrecht University, the Netherlands. Before joining Agent Technology Group in September 2010, he worked as a developer of 2APL agent programming language at Utrecht University and as a developer of agent-based virtual training systems at TNO Defence, Security and Safety in Soesterberg, the Netherlands.
His research interest include topics related to artificial intelligence and multi-agent systems such as multi-agent trajectorial planning, distributed path coordination, agent-based simulations, and design of multi-robot systems.

Karel Durkota
Karel Durkota is a research fellow and PhD student at Agent Technology Group at CTU since 2013. He received Master Degree in Artificial Intelligence at CTU. Karel's research mainly focuses on game theoretic strategies for network intrusion detection and multi-agent domain-independent planning. His hobbies are climbing and hiking
Sebastián García
Sebastián García is a PhD student for the UNICEN University (Argentina) and a research fellow in the Agent Technology Group at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Czech Technical University. He is also a research fellow at the National Scientific and Technical Research Council of Argentina (CONICET) and a teacher in the UFASTA University in Argentina. His research interests include network-based botnet behavior detection, anomaly detection, penetration testing, honeypots, malware detection and keystroke dynamics. His recent projects focus on using unsupervised and semi-supervised machine learning techniques to detect botnets on large networks based on their behavioral models. He is also a co-founder of the Mateslab HackSpace and a grateful Aikido practitioner. He loves to walk on nature and to spent a day under the sun.
Martin Grill
Martin Grill holds master degree in Software development at the Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague. At the present time he is a member of the Agent Technology Center, a researcher at CESNet, and a PhD student at the Department of Cybernetics of Czech Technical University in Prague.
His research is focused on network security and collective adaptation in multi-agent systems.
Jan Hrnčíř
Jan Hrnčíř is a PhD student at the Agent Technology Center at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague. Since 2011, Jan works on modeling and optimizing multi-modal transport systems in the SUPERHUB FP7 project. In his research, Jan focuses on developing a fully multi-modal journey planner. In addition, Jan is interested in standards for scheduled public transport services.
Jan Hrnčíř received a master degree in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Edinburgh in 2011. Before studying in Edinburgh, Jan received a bachelor degree in Software Engineering at the Faculty of Electrical engineering at CTU.

Viliam Lisý
Viliam Lisý is a PhD student and a researcher at Agent Technology Center since 2007. He holds master's degree in Technical Artificial Intelligence from VU University Amsterdam and master's degree in Theoretical Computer Science from the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University in Prague. Prior to his current position, he worked on automatic emotion recognition at Philips CE Innovation Lab and he also worked as a programmer for a subcontractor of all Czech cell phone service providers.
Viliam's research interest include (computational) game theory, formal models of deception, automated planning and search, and distributed constraint optimization problems. He works on research projects on adversary behavior modeling, simulation and prediction in a variety of domains. He currently coordinates a project on strategic use of honeypots in computer networks funded by ONR Global and he contributes to a project on security games in extensive form funded by Czech Science Foundation.
Radek Píbil
Radek Píbil is a PhD student at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Czech Technical University since 2011. He holds a master’s degree in Theoretical Computer Science at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University in Prague. Prior to his current position, he worked on a computer games artificial intelligence platform Pogamut at AMIS group at Charles University in Prague. He works on research project concerned with application of game theory in deployement of honeypots in computer networks. His main research interest is game theory.
Martin Selecký
Martin Selecky holds master's degreein Cybernetics and Measurement from FEE CTU. Currently he works as a researcher in Agent Technology Center and he is pursuing his PhD degree in Artificial Intelligence and Biocybernetics at Department of Cybernetics, FEE CTU.
Martin participated on projects Camnep, AgentFly, Tactical AgentFly3, SafeFly and Autonomia. He is interested in methods of automated planning and path planning and problems connected with deployment of multiagent technologies on real autonomous Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs).
Jan Stiborek
Jan Stiborek holds master degree in Software development at Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague. At the present time, he is pursuing PhD degree in Artificial Intelligence and Biocybernetics at Department of Cybernetics, FEE CTU.
His current profesional interests focus on network security, network simulation and autonomous adaptation of intrusion detection systems.
Jan Tožička
Jan Tozicka is a researcher of ATG since 2010; he concentrates on distributed learning algorithms and on the diverse planning. He holds master degree and doctorate in natural sciences in Computer Science from Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University in Prague. Prior to this position, Jan worked as a software engineer in IndigoVision Ltd. in Edinburgh, where he focused on design and implementation of integration modules and network video recorders
Petr Vaněk
Petr Vaněk is a PhD student of the Department of Computer Science and engineeringsince 2013. He received master degree in Cybernetics and Robotics at Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Czech Technical University in Prague in 2012. Petr is interested in motion planning for autonomous intelligent mobile robotic systems, which could be used for inspection, rescue missions, surveillance missions.

Marek Cuchý
Marek Cuchý is a master's degree student of Artificial Intelligence at the Faculty of Electrical Egineering, CTU. He works in the Agent Technology Center since 2013 and his work is focused on simulation of transport systems.
Ondřej Hrstka
Ondřej Hrstka holds bachelor degree in Cybernetics and Measurements at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering on the Czech Technical University in Prague and currently pursuits master degree in Artificial Intelligence also at FEE CTU. Since July 2010 he is member of the Agent Technology Group of the Gerstner laboratory. Ondřej is interested in multi-agent planning.

Lukáš Koranda

Tomáš Meiser
Tomas Meiser holds bachelor degree in Software technologies and management at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering on the Czech Technical University in Prague. Now he is pursuing master degree in Artificial inteligence and as minor computer vision. At the same time he is a member of the Agent Technology Group of the Gerstner laboratory.
His research is focused on UAVs, MANETs and topology control.

Michal Štolba
Michal Štolba works as a research programmer in the ATG. Michal holds Master by Research (MRes) degree in Automated Planning for Autonomous Systems from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow. He has previously worked on deployment of cooperative techniques on UAVs, currently his main topic of interest is domain independent multi-agent planning.

Jiří Čermák is pursuing masters degree in Artificial inteligence at the faculty of Electrical Engineering of Czech Technical University in Prague. He is member of Agent Technology group since 2012 and his work focuses on Game theory.
Vojtěch Létal
Vojtěch Létal is now pursuing his masters degree in Artificial Intelligence at Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Czech Technical University in Prague. He received his bachelor degree in Communications on the same university in 2012. Vojta started working in ATG right after his graduation and he is now focusing on general planning techniques.
Jan Straka

Petr Váňa
Petr Váňa is a member of ATG since 2011. He is a student of the bachelor program Cybernetics and Robotics at the faculty of Electrical
Engineering. He currently works on the project AgentFly and its application to small planes controlled by Procerus Kestrel Autopilot
System. He is interested in path planning algorithms for autonomous UAVs especially in presence of wind.
Michal Zajačík
Michal Zajačík holds bachelor's degree in Informatics and Computer Science at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague. He is now pursuing his master's degree in the Artificial Intelligence also at FEE CTU. His interests consist of Linux and multi-agent systems and their deployment on autonomous Unmanned Aerial Vehicles.

Barbora Jeníková holds master's degree in Information Management at The Faculty of Management of University of Economics, Prague. She works as a grant administrator at Czech Technical University in Prague since 07/2007.
